Edit the 3D QR Code data with your own and then export the STL file to your computer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Uses of a QR code<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">QR codes have multiple uses today, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make or accept payments online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attract customers to your website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use virtual menus in restaurants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Authenticate purchases made online, such as movie tickets for example.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And there are many uses that are practical and fast and easily solve the access to information with just scanning a code. (If you want to know what QR codes are and what they are for, I will leave you an external link <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inesem.es\/revistadigital\/informatica-y-tics\/para-que-sirve-un-codigo-qr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Normally QR codes are printed on paper, but the papers can be torn or lost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have a 3D printer you can print a QR code in 3D and make it more durable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why print a QR code in 3D<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Because you can differentiate yourself from others by doing something different and fun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a 3D printer you can do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Keychains with a 3D printed QR to promote your website <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>a business card<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Save Wifi passwords <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Save important passwords you don&#039;t want to lose<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And because it also gives a more professional appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to print a QR code in 3D<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Log in to Tinkercad using your account, if you don&#039;t have one you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tinkercad.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">log in<\/a> with your Google account. Tinkercad is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can see how I do it with images from this post: <a href=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/en\/how-to-make-3d-name-keychains\/\">How to make keychains with names in 3D<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#039;s see a step by step from Tinkercad:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to make a QR code in Tinkercad<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Now is the time to configure the QR code with the text you want to promote, it can be a link to a web page or it can be a password or any information you consider important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my case I am going to put the address of my website: impresion3d.website<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"258\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-editar-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"QR in 3D - configure qr\" class=\"wp-image-3686\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Now configure the information you want in the QR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. At this point you are going to put the measurements of the width and height of the code. In my case I am going to put some measurements of 50 x 50 mm by 2 mm high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To modify the size, just click on the QR code and then on any of the 5 white squares.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-modificar-tamano-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"Resize QR in Tinkercad\" class=\"wp-image-3692\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Change the size to what you want<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7. You already have the QR code, now you need a base. For that you will go back to the option \u00ab<strong>basic shapes<\/strong>\u00bb as it was at the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click on the \u201ccube\u201d shape and then on the work plane.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-Menu-formas-basicas.webp\" alt=\"3D QR-create base\" class=\"wp-image-3690\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Go back to basic shapes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8. When you already have the Cube on the work plane, you are going to modify its measurements so that it is a little bigger than the QR code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my case for the example I am going to put 60 x 60 mm width.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-crear-cubo-tamano-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"3D QR-create cube\" class=\"wp-image-3683\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Place the cube and change its size<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8. In the height I am going to put about 4 mm so that the base has rigidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">now i will do <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">click on the QR code<\/span> and then I&#039;m going to raise it from the work surface about 4 mm, which is the same height as the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To do this you need <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">click on the black triangle and go up to 4 mm<\/span> without releasing the mouse button.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-crear-cubo-altura-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3682\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Modify the heights of the base and the QR code<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9. When you have made the previous point, you are going to select everything and you are going to use the &quot;Align&quot; tool that is at the top right as seen in the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the black points are marked, you are going to click on the centers as seen in the image.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-alinear-cubo-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"3D QR-align QR code with base\" class=\"wp-image-3679\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Align both shapes so they are centered<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10. If everything went well, you will see that the QR code and the base have been aligned in their centers.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-crear-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3684\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">3D QR aligned<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">11. Now you need to make the hole for the key ring, for that choose the transparent cylinder that is in &quot;basic shapes&quot; and place it on the work plane as you have done before with the other objects.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-crear-cilindro-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3680\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Place a transparent cylinder<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">12. Modify the sides of the cylinder. Click on the white squares and choose the size, in my case I&#039;m going to put 3 x 3 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now move the cylinder and place it where you want to put the key ring. I&#039;m going to put it in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-crear-cilindro-tamano-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3681\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Set the cylinder size<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">13. At this point you must &quot;Group&quot; all the shapes so that they become one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select everything and then click on the \u201cGroup\u201d tool that is on the top right as seen in the image.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-seleccionar-todo-y-agrupar-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"3D QR - group QR with base\" class=\"wp-image-3694\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Group all the shapes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">14. After you have put everything together (and if everything is OK) you can export the STL file from Tinkercad to your hard drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select everything and click \u201cExport\u201d as seen in the image.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-seleccionar-y-exportar-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"3D QR - export QR code as stl file\" class=\"wp-image-3695\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Click Export<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">15. In the next window, choose the &quot;STL&quot; option, which will be the appropriate format to use with any Slicer, in my case Cura.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"470\" height=\"483\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-hacer-llaveros-con-nombre-3D-tinkercad-nombre-3d-Exportar-llavero-STL-terminado.webp\" alt=\"3D QR-stl\" class=\"wp-image-3655\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Choose the STL file option<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Print the QR code in 3D<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You already have your QR code in an STL file, now open it in your favorite Slicer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use a speed of no more than 50 mm\/s, since the QR code part has to be printed well so that it can be read by the reader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Outside of that you can use your preferred settings.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Como-imprimir-un-codigo-qr-en-3d-Tinkercad-Cura-Qr-3d.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3685\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Open Cura and set your 3D QR code<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point you also have to choose whether to print your QR code in a white color (and then paint the part of the code with a black marker); or if you are going to print using two colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have a 3D printer with multiple extrusions it shouldn&#039;t be a problem, but if you want to print multiple colors with a single extruder then <strong>you will have to create one<\/strong> \u00ab<strong>secquency of commands<\/strong>\u00ab<strong> in Cura to pause printing when the filament needs to be changed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I invite you to see the Post: <a href=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/en\/how-to-print-two-colors-with-a-single-extruder\/\">How to print in two colors with a single extruder<\/a> an item that can help you print multiple colors with a single extruder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my case I will use <strong>two filaments<\/strong> of different colors, so I&#039;m going to <strong>create a script<\/strong> so that the ender 3 printer stops at the last layer of the base, so I can change the filament to a black one for the QR code part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Channel video: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@3liasD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EliasD<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre><div class=\"video-responsive\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1EUvmCOXQG4?start=58\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
