It is especially known for being the software used with Prusa Research brand 3D printers, although it can also be used with other printer models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Prusa Slicer?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a 3D laminator or &quot;slicing software&quot; that works with STL files in order to prepare them for 3D printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a laminator software developed by the 3D printer manufacturer \u201cPrusa Research\u201d, based on an open source program called \u201cSlic3r\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program allows you to import 3D models in different formats and then configure printing parameters such as layer height, printing speed, and temperature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also possible to generate supports for the models that need them and simulate the print to identify possible problems before printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main function of this software is <strong>similar to Ultimaker&#039;s Cure<\/strong>: slice a 3D object in STL format into layers and transform the information data into a Gcode file to be sent to a 3D printer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PrusaSlicer has a large community of users and developers who keep it updated and improve its features. In addition, it is available in several languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PrusaSlicer is free and you can use it on Windows, Mac, or Linux<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PrusaSlicer minimum installation requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hardware Configuration<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CPU: A multi-core and multi-threaded processor will always be better.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Memory: Minimum 4 gigabytes of RAM (8 GB or more recommended)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graphics: Need to support OpenGL from version 2.0 onwards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Operating systems<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Windows: Windows 7 with 64-Bit and up. (PrusaSlicer Version 2.4.2 is the latest available for Windows 32-bit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OSX: Version 10.11 onwards (for PrusaSlicer 2.5.0 and newer versions OSX \u2013 10.12 (Sierra) onwards will be required.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Linux: Most standard Linux distributions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chromebook: Current version of Chrome OS running Debian 10.7 or later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to download PrusaSlicer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can download PrusaSlicer from its official website (choosing the icon of your operating system) by following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prusa3d.com\/es\/pagina\/prusaslicer_424\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/prusa3d\/PrusaSlicer\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GitHub<\/a> where you should look for the latest most stable version that is <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/prusa3d\/PrusaSlicer\/releases\/tag\/version_2.5.0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">version 2.5.0<\/a> (in 2023) and choose the download method that corresponds to your operating system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On GitHub you will also find \u201cAlpha\u201d versions that you can download (the last one is <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/prusa3d\/PrusaSlicer\/releases\/tag\/version_2.6.0-alpha2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PrusaSlicer 2.6.0-alpha2<\/a>), but these versions are test and not yet fully stable, so they might have bugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to install PrusaSlicer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prusa3d.com\/es\/pagina\/prusaslicer_424\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">download page<\/a> from the official website <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choose the installation files and click on \u00abNext\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By default the PrusaSlicer 2.5.0 program, common and utility files will be selected.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Driver checkboxes and example objects <strong>will be optional<\/strong> and you should only activate them if you have a Prusa 3D printer, since these options are for updating the firmware of these 3D printers.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img 7 <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choose if you want to create the start menu icons and Click on \u201cInstall\u201d (It will ask for administrator permissions)<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Windows asks if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device, accept the installation and <strong>Click Yes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div Windows 10\" class=\"wp-image-3809\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">step 9<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point PrusaSlicer 2.5.0 will be installed on class=\"wp-element-caption\">Wait while the files are being copied<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">step 10<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the last window you will be notified that the installation has been successful, so click on &quot;Finish&quot;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img the Windows menu or the operating system you use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">step 11<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Look for PrusaSlicer among your installed programs, open it and check that it works correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PrusaSlicer will open, displaying the work platform where you can import the STL files to work on.<\/p>\n\n\n<div
