{"id":820,"date":"2022-01-29T10:17:56","date_gmt":"2022-01-29T13:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/?p=820"},"modified":"2023-09-04T15:12:25","modified_gmt":"2023-09-04T18:12:25","slug":"flow-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/en\/flow-2\/","title":{"rendered":"How to calibrate the flow of your 3D printer to obtain more exact parts."},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"que-es-el-flujo-en-impresion-3d\">What is Flow in 3D printing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Flow or &quot;Flow&quot; is the configuration of the laminating program that allows you to regulate, through software, the amount of filament that will be pushed and purged by the extruder<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This amount of extruded filament <strong>will determine if your parts are accurate<\/strong> in its dimensions or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"por-que-es-importante-calibrar-el-flujo\">Why it is important to calibrate the flow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Calibrating the flow of your printer will not only give you more exact parts, but you will also avoid having sub-extrusion problems, or walls that do not stick together, (to name a few errors, among others).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imagine printing pieces that do not fit, that do not rotate, that cannot be sold because their dimensions do not correspond to those requested by your client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having your printer calibrated to perfection is priceless, you can be a benchmark for 3D printing, who stands out in your area as someone reliable, with good quality prints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"como-calibrar-el-flujo-de-mi-impresora-3d\">How to calibrate the flow of my 3D printer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To calibrate the flow you will need to set up your laminating software to print a calibration cube and take some measurements. I have to consider that <strong>the seams offer a little resistance<\/strong>, but they can be sanded down if necessary, apart from the first coat which can be a bit more &quot;crushed&quot; than the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"conclusiones\">Conclusions:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I think that calibrating the flow can help a lot to make the dimensions of your works more exact.<\/strong>. Even so, it seems to me that there are many variants at play, which can cause interference as I mentioned above with the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">seams<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/impresion3d.website\/en\/how-to-calibrate-extruder-steps\/\">Calibrate the extruder steps<\/a> and calibrating the flow by software can be of great importance to have more accurate prints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also believe that many more tests can be done to improve these approximations using the <strong>horizontal
