Hi, I would like to know which one is better for working with abs.
Hello Leo, good morning!
As you already know, most 3D printers can print in ABS.
As a minimum requirement, they must reach a melting temperature of up to 250 °C and a heated bed that can reach up to 100 °C, easily achievable by most 3D printers.
However, printing in ABS is not easy, as the filament tends to deform with the slightest changes in temperature.
Open 3D printers will allow you to print in ABS as long as the parts are small and very low in height, following some tricks to improve adhesion.
The most recommended option for printing in ABS would be, without a doubt, a closed printer. This can be achieved by investing in a 3D printer already prepared for this, or by buying an open 3D printer and then enclosing it in a box.
Here are some options for you:
Option 1, Open 3D Printers:
Creality Ender 3 S1 (approx. $329 on AMazon)
Anycubic Kobra 2 (approximately $369)
Option 2, closed 3D printers:
Creality K1 (Approximately $559)
FLASHFORGE Adventurer 5M (Approximately $599)
Remember that open printers must be enclosed in a box. You can make one by following these steps: tutorials on youtube or buy any of These options on Amazon
There are many options available, it all depends on how much you want to spend, or the type of work you need done.
If you are just getting started in the world of 3D printing, you can find a list of the most affordable 3D printers in this post: Top 8: Best 3D printer for less than 200 euros
If that were the case, my recommendation to avoid getting frustrated (since ABS can be a bit difficult to print, especially if you are a beginner) is to use PETG filament which is much easier to print, without the need for a closed printer and you will also have an equally resistant filament.
Whatever the case, I hope I have been helpful. Thank you very much for visiting my blog and for leaving your comment. I will be here to help you in any way I can…
